It's unclear from the pedestal's scarcely legible "in commemoration of those who returned after the triumph over the Goths" whether this column was built in honour of Constantine the Great, who founded the city, or Claudius Gothicus II, one of the two emperors who both defeated the Goths.

The unique stables from the Ottoman era were restored, and as a result, the museum was opened to the public. It caters to specialised interests and has music, shipping, medicine, zoology, and architecture departments.
